Take in the Views at Grecian Luxury Resort Cosme<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Located on the Greek island of Paros, this resort was equally inspired by global travels and local architecture. \u201cIt was conceived as a natural extension of the surrounding village,\u201d Interior Design Laboratorium<\/a> founder Stamos Hondrodimos explains, \u201cand aims to give visitors the feeling they\u2019re within it\u201d\u2014rather than in a slightly sequestered compound. Wandering among the property\u2019s whitewashed structures, guests can feel the proximity to the sea and nautical culture. Residentially appointed interiors, which encompass 25,000 square feet, reference nearby fishermen\u2019s dwellings, Hondrodimos explains, as well as captain\u2019s houses throughout the Cyclades, which are typically filled with objects sourced from around the world. That accounts for details like vintage engravings and reception\u2019s curio cabinet.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design deftly interweaves traditional and modern elements. Furniture pieces nod to classical references but are \u201cadapted to contemporary needs\u201d via clean-lined silhouettes, Hondrodimos notes. Highlights include casegoods with turned-wood posts, Jaime Hayon armchairs, and custom hand-embroidery by Pierre Frey. \u201cIt\u2019s an eclectic combination,\u201d the Athens-based designer says. The overarching palette, meanwhile, was inspired by an old boatyard that once fronted the property and the fishermen\u2019s vessels that were repaired there.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
